Press Release

Litchfield Hills Winter Wine Trail To Begin on December 16, 2016

Litchfield County, CT – Six area wineries will be participating in the 2016-2017 Litchfield Hills Winter Wine Trail from December16, 2016–April 2, 2017.

The Litchfield Hills Winter Wine Trail was started in 2009 by a group of CT farm wineries looking to promote their business during the winter months. Now entering its 8th year, this program has remained an active attraction making consumers aware of the CT Farm Wineries, and that they are open year round.  The customers are given a “Trail Card” that lists the six participating wineries and upon visiting each winery the card is then stamped.   Once stamped by all six wineries, completed cards are then handed into the wineries and entered into a drawing for prizes.  The drawing will take place mid April 2017.

The participating wineries for this season are:  DiGrazia Vineyards in Brookfield, Haight-Brown Vineyard in Litchfield, Hopkins Vineyard in New Preston, Jerram Winery in New Hartford, Miranda Vineyard and Sunset Meadow Vineyards both in Goshen.  Each winery is required to be open from December through March with their hours posted on the trail card.

Program administrator, Judy Motel, of Sunset Meadow Vineyards, says: “Sunset Meadow Vineyards is happy to be a part of an area program that brings traffic into our wineries as well as area businesses during the winter months.  I would also like to thank our sponsors for supporting this program and contributing to its success.”

A few of the sponsor’s donated prizes for this year’s program are:

$150 Gift Certificate to Sweeten Your Spirits at Fascia’s Chocolates, Waterbury

$75 Gift Certificate to The Hopkins Inn, New Preston

2 Passes to Ski Sundown in New Hartford

New this year:  our Grand Prize will be a 48” Flatscreen TV.

We also have 20% off your winter stay at Chapin Park B&B in New Hartford
